Located in Sant Romà d’Abella, the walls of Casa Sullà tell amazing stories. In the 30’s it was nicknamed by the locals as “Cal Espardenyer” because at that time espadrilles or “espardenyes”, shoes typical to Spain, were made here and used by the villagers when they went working in the fields.
Over time, the house became a café and the main hang-out for locals, where they used to celebrate get-togethers and hold dances every weekend. So many wonderful memories were made in this house!
So much so, that we wanted to give value to the legacy of the house, and in 2017, we started the remodelling of its spaces using mainly traditional and natural materials to reflect the cosiness of living in the countryside. Furniture, items, and antique pieces were recovered and restored to give a rustic and cosy aesthetic in tune with the surrounding nature.
The result, a countryside cottage that has been restored with great care and devotion, giving you a warm and cosy getaway so that you can enjoy a peaceful and relaxing rural retreat.
Casa Sullà’s doors are wide open!
Casa Sullà offers accommodation for 6 people, in 3 perfectly furnished and decorated rooms. On the upper floor there are 3 double bedrooms, one of them with an en-suite bathroom. Their warm tones and stylish décor, along with the restoration of unique antiques, make them the ideal sanctuary to enjoy a well-deserved break and allow yourself to feel at one with nature again.
On the ground floor you can find the open living-dining room and kitchen. At 70 metres, it’s fully equipped with a wood burning fireplace, TV, Wi-Fi, heating, and air conditioning, ideal to spend unforgettable evenings.
It also has a bathroom adapted for people with reduced mobility and with direct access to the main entrance, the porch, and views of the indoor patio.
Part of the attraction of the house is its chill-out area “Baldomero” which has its own fireplace and a landscaped outdoor courtyard stretching to over 200 metres.
Part of the beauty of the house is the outdoor space: a large open-air area surrounded by fruit trees, olive trees, walnut trees, palm trees and pine trees, ideal for taking refuge and enjoying the tranquil outdoors, whether it’s enjoying a delightful breakfast, an aperitif, holding a barbecue or taking a refreshing dip in the pool with friends or family.
